Pegasus Announces New Program In Garland

Laurie Dunlap

Dear Pegasus Families,

It is our pleasure to announce that Pegasus Aquatics has been able to secure additional pool time at the brand new Garland ISD Natatorium at 2585 Firewheel Parkway. This state of the art facility features the largest pool in Texas and will allow Pegasus to grow water polo in the surrounding areas including Garland, Sachse, Murphy, East Plano, Wylie, Richardson, Rowlett and Rockwall.

In addition to regular practices, Garland ISD Natatorium will serve as a site for hosting local, regional, state and national tournaments.

Initially, Pegasus will offer three weekly youth water polo practices at Garland. All age groups and skill levels will attend practices at the same time in the beginning and will be grouped into the Intro and Swim2Score groups. This is a pre-competition group which focuses on teaching water polo fundamentals and improving swimming technique.

As the number of athletes and skill level increases in the coming months we will add group specific practices to include all our competitive groups (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum).

In the future, Masters Swim and Masters Water Polo practices could be added to our offering in Garland.

We expect that most current youth water polo athletes will continue to attend practices at SMU and HP, while those living closer to Garland might, at their option, decide to shift their attendance to the new pool.

We will kick off this new location with two Free Water Polo Clinics for new athletes on April 10 and 17, 2021. and start regular practices on Tuesday April 20, 2021.

If you have any friends living in the areas or know of any community outreach outlets in those areas that we can utilize to spread the word then please let us know by emailing [email protected] ! This includes Facebook groups, neighborhood message boards, school or community newsletters, etc. A flyer is attached for the free clinics.
